Last updated: April 2026 • Effective from: April 2026

1. About FreeWebsites

FreeWebsites (freewebsites.pro) is operated by FreeWebsites, based in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom. By applying for a website or purchasing a hosting plan through our website, you agree to these Terms of Service in full.

If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at contact@freewebsites.pro before proceeding.

2. Our services

FreeWebsites designs, builds and hosts professional websites for businesses worldwide. Our services include:

The free website build is conditional on you maintaining an active hosting plan. If your hosting plan is cancelled, we reserve the right to take your website offline.

3. Pricing and payment

Hosting fees are charged monthly in advance. Current plan prices are listed on our pricing page. All prices are in GBP and inclusive of VAT where applicable.

Payment is processed automatically each month via Paddle, our payment processor. By completing your order, you authorise Paddle to charge your payment method on the same date each month.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice. You will have the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.

4. Minimum term and cancellation

Important: All plans include a minimum 6-month hosting commitment from the date your website goes live. You may not cancel during this initial period.

After the initial 6-month minimum term, your subscription continues on a rolling monthly basis. To cancel, you must give 30 days' written notice by emailing contact@freewebsites.pro from the email address associated with your account.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period following the 30-day notice period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

If your account falls into arrears, we reserve the right to suspend your website with 7 days' notice and terminate the contract without refund if payment is not received within 14 days.

5. Website ownership and transfer

The website we build for you is designed and hosted on our infrastructure. During your subscription, you have full use of the website for your business.

If you wish to take ownership of the website files and host them independently, a transfer fee applies to cover the work involved in exporting, handing over and removing the site from our systems:

Plan Transfer fee
Essential £150
Signature £250
Pro £350

Transfer fees must be paid in full before files are released. Transferred sites are provided as-is; ongoing support is not included after transfer.

6. Your responsibilities

As a customer of FreeWebsites, you agree to:

7. Our responsibilities

FreeWebsites will:

We are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including third-party outages, force majeure events, or actions taken by you or your users.

8. Intellectual property

All design work, code and creative assets produced by FreeWebsites remain the intellectual property of FreeWebsites until the transfer fee is paid and the site is formally handed over. During your subscription, you are granted a licence to use the website for your business purposes.

You retain ownership of all content you provide to us, including text, logos, photographs and other materials. By providing content, you grant FreeWebsites a licence to use it for the purpose of building and displaying your website.

We may showcase your website in our portfolio (e.g. as a demo site) unless you ask us not to in writing.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement by following the cancellation process in Section 4. FreeWebsites reserves the right to terminate immediately, without refund, if you:

Upon termination, your website will be taken offline. You may request a transfer of website files subject to the transfer fee in Section 5.

11. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify existing customers by email with at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of our services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
