How our service works

FreeWebsites provides a fully custom-built professional website at no upfront cost. In place of a build fee, clients pay a small monthly hosting fee that covers ongoing hosting, maintenance, and support. The website build itself — which typically has a market value of £500 to £2,000 or more — is provided free of charge as part of this arrangement.

Because the website is built and delivered before any significant payments are made, our subscription includes a minimum 6-month term. This policy explains what happens in the event of cancellations, disputes, or requests for refunds.

Minimum subscription term

All FreeWebsites subscriptions carry a minimum term of 6 months from the date your first payment is processed. By completing checkout and making your first payment, you agree to this minimum term.

Why a minimum term? We invest significant time and resources building your website before you have paid more than a single monthly fee. The minimum term ensures that the cost of delivering that work is recovered over time. Without it, the free build model would not be possible.

During the minimum term, your subscription cannot be cancelled and monthly fees are non-refundable. If you attempt to cancel or stop payments before completing the 6-month minimum term, the outstanding fees for the remainder of that term become immediately due.

Cancelling your subscription

After your minimum 6-month term has been completed, you are free to cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at contact@freewebsites.pro.

If you wish to take ownership of your website files upon cancellation, a transfer fee applies depending on your plan (Essential: £150, Signature: £250, Pro: £350). Files are released once the transfer fee has been paid in full. Full details are set out in our Terms of Service.

Refund window

FreeWebsites operates a no-refund policy. Our refund window is 0 days. All monthly hosting fees are non-refundable once charged. This applies to all payments made during and after the 6-month minimum subscription term.

Because the custom website build is delivered before significant payments have been made, payments represent compensation for work already completed and cannot be reversed.

Charged in error? If you believe a payment was taken incorrectly, for example a duplicate charge, contact us at contact@freewebsites.pro within 30 days of the charge. We will investigate promptly and, where an error is confirmed, issue a full refund of the incorrect amount. Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank or payment provider — chargebacks raised without prior contact may result in suspension of your website.

Consumer right to cancel

Under UK and EU consumer protection law, you ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel a service contract from the date of purchase.

However, by completing your order and requesting that your website build commences immediately, you explicitly acknowledge that work begins before the 14-day period has elapsed and you agree to waive your statutory right to cancel within that window once the build has started. This is disclosed at checkout and is a standard provision permitted under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (UK) and the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

If you have any questions about your rights before placing an order, please contact us and we will be happy to clarify.
